Stop for Maya Campaign

In 2006 Maya Hirsch, a four year old girl, was struck by a hit-and-run driver outside of Lincoln Park Zoo. Maya was hospitalized at Children’s Memorial Hospital before she tragically passed away. The Stop For Maya Campaign founded in her memory promotes safety by educating drivers, bikers, and pedestrians about their shared responsibility of safe travel.

You are invited to participate in the annual “Stop for Maya” Walk. This year the walk will be held on Sunday, September 28, in Lincoln Park, Chicago. On site registration will be at the intersection of Belden and Lincoln Park West at 9 a.m. The 1.6 K (1 mile) walk will begin at 10 a.m. This is a non-strenuous walk for everyone. All pedestrians are encouraged to participate.

We invite you to register for the event and send a contribution of any size using the pre-registration form available at www.stopformaya.org

All donations are tax deductible. The monies raised will be used to promote safety for pedestrians through policy, educational, and public awareness efforts.
