Notebaert Nature Museum presents: The World Beneath Our Feet: A Survey of Life in the Soil
The world beneath our feet sustains the rich biodiversity of life above ground. The daily events of this dark, hidden world have wide-ranging influences on some of the great issues of our time – pollution, global warming, preservation of biodiversity, and our nutrition and health.
With the help of simple funnels and a camera that interfaces between a microscope and a projector, Dr. James B. Nardi, Biologist at the University of Illinois and the Illinois Nature History Survey delves into the underground world of living soil. This intriguing lecture will include live specimen demonstrations.
Cost: $12/person. Space is limited and registration is required. Call 773-755-5191 ext. 1 or email RSVP@naturemuseum.org.
